Kermanshah to host ethnic festival

KERMANSHAH, Jul. 11 (MNA) – Kermanshah provincial governor has said the province will bring together Iranian different ethnicities in a national cultural and artistic festival in upcoming September.

Mehr News local correspondent was informed about the festival by governorate public relations office, who quoted Ebrahim Rezaei Babadi, addressing a coordination meeting for holding ethnicities festival with governor’s deputies and other province magistrates in conference hall.

Mr. Rezaei Babadi reportedly emphasized that the festival should be held in standards acceptable and in best manner as possible; “all government bodies should cooperate in better holding of the festival in Kermanshah, which would entail effort of many players in the province; the governorate social deputy office is a major player with other bodies acting in harmony with the deputy,” he told the meeting.

“The executive bodies should do their best in helping province’s Ministry of Culture office with the job,” said Rezaei Babadi, thus inviting Mr. Ebrahim Rahimi Zanganeh, the head of Ministry of Culture’s provincial office to address the meeting.

“The first National Iranian Ethnicities Festival will be hosted by Kermanshah in upcoming September; with wide variety and richness in fostering different cultures and ethnicities, Kermanshah enjoys a unique place in being home to ritualistic music and mystic congregations; thus, a decision was made to host the festival by virtue of these attributes, which the higher authorities agreed to,” said Rahimi Zanganeh.

The festival will be held in 4 sections of music, ritualistic drama, costumes and fashion, and handicrafts.
